[Television] Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur headed to the small screen

Marvel Studios has announced it is adapting Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur for the small screen as an animated series. Currently, “Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur” is in development and is being produced by Marvel Animation and Cinema Gypsy Productions, with visual and animation development services by Titmouse, Inc. Based on the hit comic book series, the animated project follows the adventures of nine-year-old super-genius Lunella Lafayette, an African-America girl who teams up with her crimson-colored dinosaur and uses her smarts to save the day. Lunella, A.K.A. Moon Girl, was created by Brandon Montclare, Amy Reeder, and Natacha Bustos

[Television] Stan Sakai’s Usagi Yojimbo optioned for animated television series

[Television] Metropolis television series given the green light for full season

What was Metropolis like before Superman arrived? That’s the question Warner Bros. Television hopes to answer in the upcoming 13-episode Metropolis series for the DC digital streaming service. According to Variety, Metropolis is set in the famed city at a time before Superman arrives. It will follow Lois Lane and Lex Luthor as they investigate the world of “fringe science and expose the city’s dark and bizarre secrets.” As mentioned, the series has already received a 13-episode commitment with production kicking off later this year. Metropolis is expected to debut when the DC digital streaming service kicks off in 2019.
