[SDCC’17] Frank Miller announces Superman: Year One

During the DC Masterclass panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, legendary writer Frank Miller made an appearance and announced his next project – Superman: Year One. Way back at C2E2, Miller spoke about a possible Superman project, and why he wanted to do it. I adore Superman, but I was doing a Batman book, and I wanted Batman to be the hero and very much took his point of view, and it just seems to me that… If I were Batman, who would I resent the most? It would be the guy who not only represented very, very status quo

[Toys] Watch the complete Hasbro Marvel panel

Not everyone can attend the San Diego Comic-Con, and that makes us sad. Unfortunately, CCI doesn’t record and stream every panel from the show. However, some panels have been recored, like the Hasbro Marvel panel, that you can watch in full, after the jump. No, I have no idea why they uploaded the video as a VR video, when there is very little going on.

[Television] Captain Cold and Damien Darhk return to The Legends of Tomorrow

Here’s something that will keep you thinking until October – both Captain Cold and Damien Darhk are scheduled to return for Season 3 of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow series on The CW. How is this possible? Hint: Time travel. Wentworth Miller is returning to the show as Captain Cold, but he isn’t going to be the same cold that we all know and love, because that version died a while ago. Miller also won’t be a full-time member of the show, but instead is set to return as a recurring character. Since the Legends broke time, the Time Masters will

[Television] The Thinker confirmed for The Flash Season 4

During The Flash panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, it was confirmed that The Thinking is coming to the CW series in Season 4. Neil Sandilands will play the Thinker (aka Clifford Devoe), a metahuman who pits the fastest man alive with the fastest mind alive.  The Thinker’s main goal for the season is to try and fix all that he sees wrong with humanity. Joining Sandilands as the Thinker will be Kim Engelbrecht who will play The Mechanic, an engineer who designs the devices used by Devoe. In Season 3, Jessica Camacho was introduced as the bounty hunter Gypsy

[Movies] Thor: Ragnarok debuts new trailer at #SDCC

During the Marvel Studios panel at the San Diego Comic-Con the new trailer for Thor: Ragnarok landed, and it looks glorious. Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth) finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor’s quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela (Cate Blanchett) from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization. According to Mark Ruffalo, who plays the Hulk, Banner has been in his Hulk form for nearly two

[Movies] Captain Marvel to take on the Skrulls

Marvel’s female stand alone film is going back and time, as Captain Marvel will take us back to the ’90s to take on the Skrulls. Here is the most interesting thing about the announcement – the Skrulls appeared in Fantastic Four #2 in 1961. For years, we’ve assumed (correctly) that the Skrulls went with the Fantastic Four when 20th Century Fox acquired the rights to the FF.  With the appearance of the Skrulls, and the announced Doctor Doom stand alone film, we wonder if Kevin Feige’s pronouncement that the Fantastic Four would never appear in the MCU was all a

[Movies] Ant-Man and The Wasp casts Michelle Pfeiffer

What better way to open the Marvel Studios panel at the San Diego Comic Con than by announcing Michelle Pfeiffer will play Janet Van Dyne in the upcoming Ant-Man 2 movie? I don’t think there is… Pfeiffer will play the wife of Hank Pym, played by Michael Douglas in the Ant-Man movie. Returning to Ant-Man and The Wasp will be Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, and presumably Michael Peña who appeared with Rudd in the opening video piece. Joining the cast will be Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch, Randall Park as Jimmy Woo and Laurence Fishburne as

If you are completely not interested in Star Trek: Discovery, perhaps you want something a little different.
